Story

When I was a young girl my family would drive to The Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida, to see the Christmas lights strung along the 1400 acres of the school grounds. It was a place for troubled young boys, run by the state. This last Christmas season, word finally came out about so many of those boys being tortured and murdered, then buried without paperwork in an area behind the torture chamber. The chamber was called "the White House," and the burial ground was "Boot Hill." I felt, somehow, that we were complicit. We should've known. Now, after so many years, these bodies are being exhumed after a long fight with authorities. I hope they will be returned to their families....their homes

Lyrics

*Who's gonna miss me when I'm gone Who's gonna miss me when I'm gone when I'm dead and buried my spirit has been carried away Who's gonna miss me when I'm gone Who's gonna miss me when I'm gone who will put flowers on my grave who will put flowers on my grave when my body is covered in green grass and clover who will put flowers on my grave who will put flowers on my grave who will carve my name in stone who will carve my name in stone with no headstone above me who will ever know me who will carve my name in stone who will carve my name in stone The trees will whisper out my name The trees will whisper out my name in the dark of the night those who did this to me will fall down and cry out in shame fall down and cry out in shame Who's gonna miss me when I'm gone Who's gonna miss me when I'm gone *repeat chorus
